Starter Restoration

Starter Brush Replacement

Before and after

This Starter sat in a barn for 30 years accumulating dirt and goo.

The brushes have been replaced. The crimp connections were unrolled and there may have been evidense that the original connections were soldered in place. Attempts were made to put solder on these connections. However, Insignificant heat was applied to effect good flow of solder to the interior of the crimp.

The housing has been sandblasted and thoroughly cleaned. A new bushing (Small) has been pressed in place.

A larger bushing is pressed into the drive end of the starter

Here's the final outcome and it even works!
